Lost in tech without 99 problems
I stopped working as a dev in 2023, now I'm lost. Was I always?
I needed a change in my life back in 2023. I left my job as a web dev and went on a bit of an adventure. I've tried to keep a toe dipped in the tech world, keeping up with everything that has changed.
The pace of new things has always been there, it was one of the appeals. Learning new things is fun. The speed in which AI has developed is wild. Maybe exciting, maybe scary. Yes you can create things quicker than ever before, but typing into a text box is so unfulfilling.
For someone who is distracted easily, the wait for the LLM to answer is painful. Then it's not what you were expecting, then the context gets bloated, then it gets worse, then you need to start again.
It feels like these days tech is less about problem solving. Now its problem finding, or problem creating. I don't know if I have enough problems, or care to find problems that need to be solved. Maybe I'm not creative enough to see problems in things, maybe I don't have the energy to tell people that they have problems that can be solved.
I'm starting to think I should write my small annoyances into a text box and see if I get an answer to solve it. My hunch is I should just stop letting these things annoy me.
